GLOCAL, Global & Local Art & Gift Fair

NEW FAIR - Local and Global artist openings for GLOCAL, Global & Local Art & Gift Fair to be held Saturday, December 11, 2010 from 10 until 3 p.m. at St. Michael's Church, 4901 E. Superior St. in Lakeside.

This fair has openings for local artists- Twin Ports and neighboring vicinity - and for groups involved with selling international items to support other countries (Fair Trade). There also may be space for information tables on supporting international groups or, for instance, hosting an exchange student or other cultural exchange programs. I'd like to have a good variety of countries represented from around the world (okay - maybe not Antarctica). Beautiful tapestries, baskets, recycled materials art, but also sale of chocolate bars or even solar oven sales to support other countries. For the items made in other countries (not locally) they must be Fair Trade or by small groups which definitely benefit the international community. For local-made items some general made items will be accepted but some spots will be reserved for definite international appeal items, such as Swedish rosemaling, beadwork, silk items, etc.

If any group may be interested in doing any cultural program, like a dance, please let me know.

For more information, contact 525-5098 or learn about more local art fairs at wendyupnorth.com.
